Water Softener Installation

We all use water in our homes every day. Whether you’re drinking from the tap, bathing, washing your clothes or simply washing your hands, the quality of your water is something that you should pay attention to.

Without a water softener, you’re exposed to hard water. Hard water can be taxing not only on your skin and hair, but on your home appliances as well… and let’s not forget your wallet. Among other detrimental side effects, hard water can contribute to a decrease in the lifespan of your home appliances and can cause your energy bills to increase. By getting rid of your hard water and installing a water softener, you can greatly improve various areas of your home and lifestyle.

Soft Water Can Benefit You In The Following Ways:

  • You’ll have less spotting on your dishes, glassware and cutlery

  • Your clothes won’t lose their bright colors in the wash and will in fact get softer

  • Your skin will feel both softer and smoother and your hair won’t feel dried out

  • Your appliances will have longer lifespans, saving you money in the long run

  • You wont have those unsightly stains or hard water deposits on your showers and tubs

  • Your energy bills will be lowered

How Do Water Softeners Work?

Hard water is water that contains a high mineral content which can include magnesium or calcium. Essentially, water softeners replace those minerals with something else, usually sodium.

A water softener has a tank that contains resin beads that hold charged ions. As your home’s hard water filters through the water softener, both the magnesium and calcium ions attract to the resin beads, which are then exchanged for those hard water ions. From there, the water softener produces soft water for your use.

How Is a Water Softener Installed?

When our team comes to your home to install a water softener, the process is as follows:

  • We will first turn off your main water supply and drain your water lines.
  • We will then begin to connect the hardware.
  • After the proper connections are made, we will fill the brine tank halfway with salt.
  • Once the brine tank is half-filled with salt, we will make sure the bypass is shut.
  • From there, we will slowly turn your water on and check for leaks.
  • Finally, we will complete the start up procedure!
